Rachael Ray’s New Christmas Album

Christmas brings back many childhood memories.  For one reason or another, I have very fond ones tied to the music of the holidays.  Our family loved playing music during the holiday season.  Somehow, if there wasn’t any music playing, it didn’t seem like Christmas!

Because of this I like keeping my eye out for new Christmas albums, especially ones with a mix of old and new.  I happened to find Rachael Ray’s new Christmas music compilation, How Cool Is That Christmas.  There is a mix of traditional songs and new favorites that will complement any Christmas dinner party or holiday celebration.

I’ve gotta hand it to her… the songs that are included are interesting and unique:

  1. Santa Bring My Baby (To Me) – Elvis Presley
  2. I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm – Billie Holiday
  3. Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth – Bing Crosby & David Bowie
  4. The Man With The Bag – Jane Monheit
  5. Zat You Santa Claus – Buster Poindexter and his Banshees of Blue
  6. Jingle Bell Rock – Daryl Hall & John Oates
  7. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Doris Day
  8. Blue Christmas – Willie Nelson
  9. Dominick The Donkey – Lou Monte
  10. Winter Wonderland – Aretha Franklin
  11. White Christmas – Frank Sinatra
  12. Auld Lang Syne – Gato Barbieri

Quite the mix there… really something for everyone.  Nice to see that she tried to appeal to all age groups, which is good for multi-generational celebrations.  So, check out How Cool Is That Christmas and get you and your family into the Christmas spirit.
