Review: Jamie’s Food Revolution

ATTENTION:  If you are in need of delicious home cooked meals made simply, then Jamie’s Food Revolution by Jamie Oliver is for you. 

There are so many people that can use this book, it is not even funny.

Jamie’s reasons for writing this cookbook may be varied, but, I believe he views cooking to be an essential skill that everyone should learn.  And especially in today’s economy, cooking healthy, fresh food is way easier on the pocketbook than dining on takeout every night…  and your waistline will thank you too!

Jamie's Food RevolutionEssentially, the recipes are broken down, step-by-step, with beautiful full-color pictures, and useful hints/tips so that anyone can understand the process.  It is meant to encourage even the most reluctantly shy in the kitchen.  That being said, however, the food is first rate, and a welcome addition to any home cook’s repertoire.

A good variety of dishes are presented including pastas, stews, roasts, stir-fries, curries, and desserts.  There are buying tips for ingredients, kitchen equipment needed, and real people shown actually following the recipes!

If you are so inclined, you can sign up to participate in the “Pass It On” challenge.  The idea is to try some of the recipes in the book, and then teach them to someone else.  That person hopefully will do the same, and so on, and so on… until there are more people than ever cooking good food in their own kitchens!  A noble end goal for a simple cookbook, wouldn’t you say?
