Rachael Ray

Love her or hate her, Rachael Ray is one of the most popular cooking show hosts on the tube today.  She has a unique, approachable style and attempts to simplify and streamline the cooking process for busy home chefs today.

In her show 30 Minute Meals, she prepares a dish in the allotted 30 minutes from start to finish.  In reality, the meals would probably take a home chef, lets say, 45-60 minutes to complete… a lot happens in those commercial breaks ;)… but still, getting a home cooked dinner on the table in just under an hour is a worthy goal in and of itself.

And why not get more people in the kitchen actually cooking food for themselves?  If she can make it look fast and easy so novice cooks will give it a try, won’t everyone be better for it?  Even experienced people in the kitchen might need a good, easy, mid-week meal that can practically cook itself when they’re exhausted and just want to get something on the table that’s not from a take-out menu.

As for Rachael’s signature product line, I particularly like her kitchen cookware.  There is something shockingly vibrant about the neon orange in a normal home kitchen that gets the blood flowing and the cooking juices started. (Check out the Rachael Ray 10-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set, Orange!)  And food always looks more appetizing around strong colours.  Isn’t that the reason that so many people paint their dinning rooms that crimson red?  I’m just saying…

  1. All in all, I like her. Yes, I think she is dramatic at times, but it seems like everyday communication includes a little showmanship to convery your message. I’ll tell you, she seems to have a great style! I like her!
